Ages 7+ (younger than age 7 with permission)

Favorite picture books invoke wonderful memories for all of us. What if that picture book came to life? In this class geared specifically for homeschoolers, we will choose fun and favorite picture books and then adapt the stories into fun and engaging scripts that are ready to be performed.

Students will:

· learn how to choose a picture book that is just right for adaptation,

· how to craft/write a theatrical script, and

· make that picture book story adaptation come to life!

Not only will students use their creative writing and language arts skills to craft a script, they’ll also learn the basics of acting such as stage directions, theater skill games, character analysis, and scene work. While working as an ensemble, the students will perform their picture book adaptations on the final day of class.
